Looks like seller is off to a rough start. Think they need to move it to HO scale before someone buys it and gives them yet another ding on their rating.

I have not been selling on ebay for several years.

Found out the hard way that Ebay fees are up to 12.9%...
Does that includes their pay portal directly to bank account?
Might account for part of the reason prices are going up so high for stuff.

closed my ebay store as fees added up to more than I was making. Store is like 35 a month then fees added up to close to 20% crazy.
But then show pricing is also going nuts, guy next to us this weekend sold a Con-Cor big boy from the second run in 1988 for 225 bucks. let's see the new KATO without DCC is like 300 list so around 250 street price. What pay that for one that you don't even know runs and is 25 years old. was an estate sale and the guy that passed had a list of everything he bought with dates and what he paid and then what he thought was the value. Had some crazy numbers like a lifeLike PA for 75 think last ones I got paid 35 for a matched pair.
then the guy selling used MT cars for 30 off list because they were used LOL.

Those must be made out of some type of special material for that price. Start bid at $200 or buy now price of $340

Those are not black and white photos. They're actually painted like that! If you look at the third picture from the top you'll see a little red something in the background. Zoom in.

Just my opinion but that paint is amature, almost looks like a brush job. Here's one i just finished a few days ago,it was a Kato ATSF yellow bonnet, not that what i did is any better but i would feel bad charging someone $100 for that level of work

I went back and and looked at them again, and your right. Lot of paint bleed between the colors and the paint is pretty thick.

And it looks like he has sold a few custom shells in the $150 range. Not the crisped paint job I have seen but he must be filling a need...

That is Trainz in a nutshell. They have improved a bit over the years. But often had no idea what they were describing and struggled to package well enough to ship items securely.

I think the fees are actually higher now than when EBay owned PayPal…

What I was surprised to find out was that the fees are assessed on the total the buyer pays… including both shipping and sales tax...

I also don’t get why some people are willing to pay what they pay for things… i just sold a Digitrax DT402 for $40 over the buy it now price i had originally listed…. It ended up going for twice what I expected it to sell for…..

Can't help but wonder if it is partly due to fewer local hobby stores? Although, I see stuff go for more than the online stores.

eBay has been like that for a long time now. About 15 years ago, I bought a bunch of unpainted ceramic Easter decorations for a $1 per piece and would list them as a set of 5 on eBay. I would easily double or triple my money every time.

Look like the picture from his avatar is true. Still try to figure the reason of asking almost 700$ of what ? In the box is nothing more than 200$. But i have fun...
