Look at every one of his auctions... they have some 'average' price or something up there.. I actually think that is the total price of every single one of those units has ever sold for..

That seller is know for their high prices on all of their toys.
They had a old Trix 0-6-0 that was listed for over $200 US before.

These are hard to figure out. Did they make a mistake? Forget? Leave Ebay? Got ripped off themselves and trying to make $$ back? Looking for a "chump" that stumbles onto this thinking only deal in town?

Never know. Ebay "mystery" to me...... Worthy of the face palm / chuckle....

OK that one is hillarious to me. I had this exact unit when it was released. I paid $65.00 I believe. Test ran it only. When I switched from NYC and UP to CP, I sold it for $35.00. If I had only known then what the value would become (sarcasm).

I still have my first loco. A Life Like FA in NYC colours with the matching FB dummy. Maybe I should I ask $350.00 for that set as I'm sure it is even more "rare"?

Based on some of the negative reviews, the seller neither packs items very well leading to damaged goods on arrival, nor does he necessarily send the exact items that he depicts in the auctions, I'd say that you really really better hope that he doesn't accept. Of course, I doubt he would, but what if he did, and you end up with something disastrous. Yikes!

I think he asks such a hillarious price so that he gets offers that are higher then they should be . He's asking 180 to get 80 for instance which is still way to much for this engine.

while we are at it, why do used locos go for same price as new??? why wouldn't you buy new since they are sometimes cheaper than used..

For $180, I could go buy my favorite steamer (N&W 611), plus the auxillary tender for the same price. Used loco vs 611.....I'll take 611.

I sometimes think people get accustomed to looking on eBay for items rather than the online stores or else where.
I know for some that online is their only choice, but a quick search on Google will sometimes bring up surprises.
I also think impulse buying plays a lot, as I've gotten caught in that trap myself.

This brings an "gag" line to mind. Does anyone remember, "What if you were to die while you're on hold?" LOL It makes me wonder if something happened to them 3 years ago, and no one knows this listing will last for ever. LOL

Whomever it is, they seem to be pretty finicky sellers. "We only ship once a week?" And the declined offers???

    Icon11 Seller name

Did anyone notice their eBay name? Seems to me they somehow ended up on the wrong section of eBay or more likely they're on the entirely wrong site! I'm afraid to look at their other items.

Or perhaps their 'day job' is a seedy storefront if you know what I mean & they sell model trains in their free time?! Might explain why they only ship once a week & why they sometimes mix up their listings/shipments.

This is why when I am seriously looking on eBay, I always keep a link to N Scale Supply in the background. I chose them because of the easy to use catalog. When I see an item that I'm interested in it only takes a couple of clicks to find the list price for a new one.
