Spent Labor day laboring in Terry, MT working with a buddy. However, I had to stop for a couple of trains before I got there! Terrible, I know! Anyway, this M train was pulling west to stop at the west end of Terry after dropping into town off the old Milw main from Aberdeen, SD. It then waited for the coal empty in the next video to blow by. There are a couple of un-graffittied BN hoppers in the set.

And I got out of the van after the M train stopped, waited about a minute then enjoyed the sights and sounds of this guy blasting by! No video can portray all the sounds and sensations of this tonnage just blowing by so LOUDLY! To say my buddy is spoiled by trains less than a block from his house, is to be underwhelming! He does occassionally complain, but not too loudly!

Saw a tall column of black smoke early Sunday morning as I came back into town from a Job east of town. As I got closer to town it became apparent that it was a coal train with a smoking unit. And best of all, it is the 5678, which is a neat number!

Thanks. Looks like it’s been having issues before with the paint missing.

Got to watch a couple of early morning trains with the sun rising behind me yesterday morning. It was a little cool, but it was a nice morning to go watch trains!

And back in Glendive, yesterday morning, this empty oil train was heading into the yard for the afternoon. I say that because this video is before lunch, and the train was still there around 3, so, no hurry. It sat all by itself with no other traffic also. A quiet day, for some reason.

Last week, Friday, this pipe train was LEAVING the pipe lay down area. They have been stock piling pipe for the Keystone and some others for a while now up the Redwater branch. But here goes a load away! Don't know why, but I do hope it's not a complete pullout.

Early yesterday morning, about 8, I saw this guy slowly crawling out of the yard, so hurried up and got ahead of him for this nice video!

And this large set of power was doing some switching on the east end.PIC_0977.jpg
Later in the day, this set was sitting in the yard, I got a video, too, in next post, but thought I would put the pic up for the SFWF's!PIC_0982.jpg

I saw this lost KCS loco on a westbound grain train on the 14th of Jan.PIC_0989.jpgPIC_0990.jpg
And then on my way to Billings, this coal train blew by just west of Forsyth. The track here is right alongside the Yellowstone, and a steep bluff is right behind me!

On the way home that evening, this eastbound empty grain train was sitting at Pompey's Pillar waiting for someone,PIC_0003.jpgPIC_0004.jpg
Which train I caught a few miles east,

And after landing in Terry, 5 minutes after the oil can blew through, this train load of wind generator blades powered up and headed east. A friend of mine donated the NP wooden caboose to Terry, and has regretted it ever since. They haven't maintained it very well. If I only had the time and resources......
