Added three more just-released, Fox Valley Models' GP60s to my Kato Unitrack order from MTS last week: #9600, #9607, #9614:

Just ordered this Kato Metra F40PH loco to match my new Metra passenger-car sets for only $59.99 (last one!). I always wanted one of these, but never pulled the trigger because it doesn't fit my location (Southern California). But now, I'm like, "So what?" It looks cool, and matches my Metra cars (which also don't fit my location!).

Also bought the last one of these at MTS to complement my three non-graffiti'd Procor cars:

And, finally, I just grabbed a Wheels of Time 50' SP boxcar triple-pack (NIB!), for only $35 off eBay tonight:

Southern Pacific | Santa Fe | SPSF | BNSF | Metrolink | CalTrain | Chicago Metra | TGV Lyria

So today I made it into Osbornes Models to buy some British stuff and of course I left with more than planned. I got a tomix Thomas the tank engine set that I will leave do for my little boy when he gets older (19 months now), a Dapol Flying Scotsman set, and a Kato 8 car Eurostar set as well.

pictures when I return to the states in 2 weeks.

Picked up an Air Eraser over the weekend at Harbor Freight for $20 thanks to the Memorial Day sale and just finished blasting my SD38AC back to bare plastic. I used baking soda instead of the Aluminum Oxide medium that came with it and the only thing that really slowed me down was the moisture in the air since today was on and off drizzles (made the powder clump a little in the gun), and I had to crank it up to about 90psi for it to really do some work (recommended 65psi max). I did find out that between the Atlas and Kato plastic involved in the build that Atlas uses a much softer compound and I may have over-blasted a few spots, oops.

I bid and won two Atlas Seaboard C420s with DCC, plus two sets of Microscale Alaska RR 60s locomotive decals. I plan on altering the roofs of the cabs, then painting hoods and cabs gloss black, and adding ARR decals. The Seaboard railings and frames are painted same as ARR, so models, with rounded roofs, should resemble GP7 low noses as used by ARR. I also received another KATO Superliner Coach (painted by Karl Haddow) in modern ARR passenger scheme.

The loco was dead on arrival. I had to send it back. It's difficult to judge the quality for now

Just did a search on this building and found it in Mooseville... did you ever build it?

Not yet. The buildings will come some time after the terrain is finished and painted. The powerhouse, being in the yard, well, Moose no know where it will go yet...
