Default DCC/orsound engine for B&O Heavyweight

I would like to model these trains but the only engines I can find are Bachmann DCC F7. I would much prefer Kato/Atlas/Other. Or are the Bachmann DCC good and reliable. Any suggestions.

The Bachmann F7 DCC equipped is very good.

I'll start this by acknowledging that not everyone will agree with me- opinions vary as they say.

Personally I find the Bachmann decoders annoying. They have a bit of a buzz, require a "blast mode" or something similar to program properly, and I never could get them to adjust the CVs for min, max, and mid speed. I wound up replacing the stock Bachmann decoders with a hard wired DZ126. When Kato came out with the paint scheme I wanted in a F7 I just replaced the Bachmann, and now the Bachmann is relegated to when my toddler wants to set up trains on the floor.

I will say, it did run every time (and still does), and other than the large hole in the pilot for the coupler, the looks are pretty decent.

The newer Bachmann F7s run very well, the DCC decode that comes installed has very limited functions, no mid and max CVs but they do how ever have a start CV. If you are just going to pull passenger cars around it will do just as well as a Kato.
