Default Crowdfunding: N scale Fairbanks Morse Erie Built A and B (Road Specific Detailed)

We have another N scale Crowdfunding project going. New Fairbanks Morse Erie Built As and Bs. Each crowdfund unit is $10. We are eating the printing and shipping costs to those who help us fund the development of this new kit. There is as a limit of 25 Crowdfunding units, and we have 14 units remaining.

Once all units are sold, the model will go into development. Once Development is complete, you will be sent your model, at no additional cost, one week before it goes on sale to the public. If we do not sell all of the allotted units, we will take the number sold into account, and make a decision on whether or not to proceed with making the kit. If we choose not to move forward, you will receive a full refund.

Once we reach the goal, and Development starts, I will email all customers individually who ordered this and get their requirements as to A and B units, as well as what road specific details they are looking for. We will also create a thread here on Trainboard that will share all development updates with everyone. My hope is that the input we get from the members here, and on a couple other forums will help us make an accurate and faithful product.

Clear parts will be included, they will be clear 3D Printed.

The Fairbanks Morse Erie Built Locomotives were built between 1945 and 1949 at Fairbanks Morse's Erie Pennsylvania plant. The original customers were:

    ATSF: A Units: 90, 90B. B Unit: 90A

    CNW: A Units: 6001A, 6001B, 6002A, 6002B

    MILW: A Units: 5A9A, 5C9C, 21A, 21B, 22A, 22B RE# 5A14A, 11B14B

    B Units: 5B9B, 21C. Later 21C was renumbered 10B

    KCS: A Units: 60A, 60C, 61A, 61C, 62A, 62C B Units: 60B, 61B, 62B

    NYC: A Units: 44004405, 50005005 B Units: 51005101

PRR: A Units: 9456A9491A B Units: 9456B9478B (even numbers only)

    UP: A Units: 700707 B Units: 700B, 702B704B, 706B

The 3D Printed shell will be designed for the Kato PA Mechanism. The development process will take some time, please feel free to message us for updates.

Cool -- I submitted an order for one of these (UP A-unit)... I would likely do a B-unit to match in the future...

Thanks! Once the crowdfund is done, we'll release the kits to the public, and the UP prototypes will be among them. They wont be $10 though.

Cool -- Recommend that you post this project to the N-scale Facebook groups (they have thousands of users and are really active -- bet you will sell out quickly).

I lived there my whole life and worked for the City until I retired. I have no desire to move back there but I do understand why you would want to move out of Cali.

Will these units be painted and numbered? Sorry if it's already been answered.

These are undecorated shells, but we have a service that we offer to paint and decal them for you. If you message me I can tell you more about it and show you some samples of our past work. As @Intermodalman said, we do have the ability to print in full color...but I don't recommend it, the technology just isn't quite there yet.

I just went ahead and ordered another one of these (I never run single engines so might as well have two A-units that match). Anyway, hope you can link these together on the back end (at the very least to save on shipping).

By the way -- this means there is only 1 unit left. EDIT: I posted to FB so now sold out (or maybe from this post being bumped).

Looks like the CNW project sold out which is good news for your business model. It would be good to leave up the old crowdfunding campaigns so folks can see what got funded - right now it only shows the DL110 which did not have lots of demand (and this Erie Built project which will turn into a product offering once it is sold out I think).

Can you post an update on the projects?

p.s., Don't take too long on those military models so you can get to the trains

The Eries are slated for production to start in the next month, had some issues with our European engineering partners taking the entire month of August off, derailing a bunch of our projects.
