It looks like it is being used to illuminate the area (lights under the ladder).

That is so tragic, but also so unnecessarily avoidable!

I love trains, but goodness! People are amazingly unaware of these massive, marvelous, mechanical monstrosities, even when they're focused on them! I feel bad for the woman that died. I think I feel more bad for her family, friends, and all the people who had their happy day of festivities shattered by the incident. I honestly DO feel bad for the woman, and her family and friends... But I'm kinda mad at her too! It's a TRAIN. That giant locomotive... The Engineer probably can't see you, and he certainly can't stop on a dime! What are people even thinking!?!?

Why is this so hard for people to grasp!
maybe it's to do with the fact that those who make this mistake don't usually get a second chance to learn from it!

As with the above post, while it is tragic that some one died why (or how) on earth would they/could they walk out in front of a train, any train? It isn't as if they can "sneak up" on you.

I also feel more empathy for the all those others concerned, the engineer, the passengers, the people who had to attend, UP itself and, of course, her family and friends as they are the ones who will have to suffer in the long run.
    Cheers Tony
