Post Weekend Update (12th Oct 2018)

Please update us on the progress you have made on your MRR projects this week (commencing: 12th Oct 2018).

This weekly thread is to post little snippets about your layout/project progress.
This is not be a substitute for your layout build thread, but just a mini update on what you got done for the week.

You can link from your layout build thread to your posts in this thread as a part of a more extensive post there, or visa-versa (post to your build thread and link to that post when contributing to this thread.

Click on a post's #number (right-hand end of the post header) to get the URL to that particular post in your browsers address bar.
Copy and paste this as needed.

So, fellow nSn'ers, what have you been up to this week?

    Preparing for more weathering:

I'll try to go light on those cars and locos... the blueish tint in the dome windows is Micro Mask, all the other windows of the train (and the C30-7s) I have taken out, removed the trucks, removed the wheelsets, ready to dirty up the carbodies and truck sideframes. Also removed the Kato couplers from the trucks, going to body mount MTL couplers. Now keeping my fingers crossed that I won't mix up the trucks or loose any small pieces like the copper strips to conduct power from the axle tips or mess up any other way...

Before (City of Portland) and after (Columbine):

It does help make the car look real, not plastic. Luckily the window frames don't look as rusty in person without a camera flash to highlight them

Moose run locomotives around layout, try not to reenact scene from Addams Family, decide to reprogram addresses for some that were still set to #3, miss phone calls from Mrs Moose, now in deep doo doo...
