    Default Faller extra parts

I just finished building the Faller Administrative Building. I'm very impressed with the kit and even though I obsess over paint and details, I must say the pre-painted kits was nicely done. Anyway, there's a few extra parts. Can't see where they would go. Is this normal for the Faller kits?

    Olie,

Can you take pics of the "spare parts" - might help to identify them and let you what they are for.

First off, it is normal for there to be extra parts in Faller (and Vollmer) kits. The fence looking thing in the 2nd pic goes on the ridge of a roof. Some of the posts also go on the peaks of various roof features. Post a photo of the building and I could tell you more.

The posts in the last photo are flagpoles, probably horizontally mounted on the building.

These parts may not even go with this kit. These manufacturers use the same sprue mold for several different kits that may share some common parts.

Yep, Throw them in a box, and use them at a later time for a kit-bash. Save some of the sprues as well, makes excellent industrial piping.

If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It is much easier to apologize than it is to get permission.

    Here's the building https://www.faller.de/App/WebObjects...-building.html
I'm thinking it's just a common sprue for multiple kits. I'll through them in my kit bashing box and save for later.

So, did you use the lightning rods on the ends of the peaks?

Yes. Those had holes and specific instructions for mounting them. These extra parts are not referenced in the instructions and there isn't any empty locations. I think they are just that, extra.

    Ollie,,

If you look at these illustrations you will see that the numbers on the sprues by the “extra” parts are not listed so yes my guess would be that they are for other kit/s.
