Default Modeling the Conrail "Glow Train"

    Hi guys,
So as a couple of you know I'm pretty big into government railroading, anything from military to NASA. Recently NSE released a set of DODX nuclear cask cars. https://www.nscaleenthusiast.com/NSE..._Pre_Order.asp
I knew they were at least based off something but I didn't know who or what they served so like any sane person I impulse bought from the first run and said I'll figure the rest out later.

This photo gave me... A start... It confirmed that the NSE cars were based on something, despite being the wrong flatcar. Beyond that one image I haven't found any photos of the cars so I started to bank off the description of the photo in hopes I'd get some more images or information. That lead me to three mile island waste trains, a quick google search turned this thread up:

At that point it started to get complicated, the image is consistent being that Union Pacific was handling the car in the photo BUT the car description seemed questionable. So I kept digging and found these:

One from a government source and two from conspiracy websites, you know "The government is hiding launch codes in our cheese" type of websites.

At that point I realized I probably wont get the full story without winding up on a watch list so I stopped there and decided to rule one the train. I decided to recreate the conrail consist substituting the tarped cask cars for the cars I got from NSE. I decided on a Atlas Conrail SD35 with sound, three Atlas 2743 gondolas in CR paint, the two NSE cask cars and an Atlas Conrail EV caboose. The Locomotive and gondolas should be here this afternoon and I'll update with photos then. Any more info on these cars/train would be greatly appreciated.

    Okay, here we are:

So from here I wait for my shipment of trucks and metal wheels to show up, all three gondolas and caboose are getting retrucked with Micro trains trucks and stock MT wheels will be swapped for metal MT wheels. Accumates on the loco will be replaced with MT 1015's. After that the entire train will be sent out for weathering

I've gotten the locomotive converted to MTs, and metal wheels on the caboose, both took some doing to get at the right coupler height but they're there. I also got MT trucks under the gondolas, but I'm waiting for FVM to make more 36" wheels before I send the train off for weathering.
