Does @Moose2013 need any more decoders like that one ? I have a few that I removed from locos when I went to sound decoders . Say 5 bucks for shipping .....Mike

OOPS ! I must have tossed them ....But I did find one DZ 120 something that's left and a Steam Econami decoder that I had in a Bman K4 ....

Well, Moose no need (Moose thinks) the DZ, but what would you want for the K4 sound decoder?

Got these from a Gift Certificate I won after a visit to the Walthers Showroom. The new packaging on the Kato Toyota Sedans has the Blue Sedans replaced by Green Sedans.

Quite a surprise, Mr Moose come home with hand full of dowels for making trees only to find Mrs Moose had also come home with even more dowels for making trees ... Looks like trees are on back on the menu boys!

Moose bought measly five on left, whilst Mrs Moose bought the tonne of wood on the right - some fairly big'uns too!

Feels like it! Still have one last package coming in, some day... Then Moose purchase complete for a while -- unless it's tree related!

You know how you find several lots of something on evil water inlet that strikes your fancy and you assume you won't get it so you bid on several lots? Well, I found several lots of microtrains covered hopper cars (3 cars in each lot) and I bid on 6 lots. Well, lo and behold, surprisingly, I was the only bidder on 5 of them. Hahaha. I'm actually ok with this as it was below my usual per-car threshold but I have to admit, I was expecting 3 at best, not 15. Happy New Year to me!

I have officially noted the correlation between the recent steady uptrend in the S&P 500 and @Moose2013's tree-building expenditures. So I say forestation for all, Moose!

Boss-man at work was nice enough to give us, his flying monkeys, a $25 Amazon gift card for Christmas. Since my modules are severely lacking trees, I am going to buy trees with it. Unlike a certain hooved member who seems to enjoy populating the forest with beautifully hand crafted trees, making trees is worse then ballasting to me. So, I am going to gamble on some pre-made trees. The black poly material is to make cotton ball trees to cover the hillsides. Couldn't find any local dark colors, only white. After looking at shipping for the poly material, I decided to just buy the white local fluff. The shipping was over $10 for an $11 item. No thanks.

I'm not allowed to run the train, the whistle I can't blow. I'm not allowed to say how fast the Railroad Train can go.
I'm not allowed to shoot off steam, nor even clang the bell. But let the damned Train jump the track, and see who catches hell!

    @RailKing50

Moose thank you for compliment ... Moose no think too difficult to make these trees -- as long as you don't accidentally drill hole in hoof, errr, fingers.
Maybe Moose should go into big-ass conifer tree making business and sell to humans? It's fun!

15 years ago I purchased 4 undecorated C44-9W shells from Kato during a sale. I didn't have money to buy the full locomotives back then so it was my start on the goal of a set of Southern Pacific Dash 9s to lead a piggyback train that I often saw while railfanning in Northern California. Fast forward to today (and sparing you some details)...
I received this finely detailed locomotive SP 8192, the last Dash 9 of the original 101 locomotive order to survive under Union Pacific ownership with the original paint.

This will be the lead unit for the set. I'll have to stage a photo with the rest of them (two of the others are newer KOBO versions #8110 and #8116).

I've attached a photo of the model and a photo I took of #8192 in Tucson, AZ more than 23 years ago!

Not so much a model train purchase, but it'll certainly improve the quality of the "anti-stampede content"...

Bought a new LG V40 ThinQ this week. It's got 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM, a Snapdragon 845 8-core processor, and a 3120x1440 pixel OLED screen. This puppy's got FIVE cameras on it, though I could care less for the two selfie cameras. It has a 12 Megapixel (F1.5/78) standard lens, a 16 Megapixel (F1.9/107) wide angle lens, and a 12 Megapixel (F2.4/45) 2x optical zoom lens, and it seems to take VERY good shots! My 6.5 year old 2012 LG Spectrum (VS920) couldn't hold a candle to to this thing! Ill have to experiment with what settings and what not gives the best results. Haven't figured out if I get better shots from the zoom lens or the regular telephoto lens. I also realize I need better lighting.

Here is an example of an image taken with this phone. It's my DME 6367 "City or New Ulm" SD40-2 that I painted last month. Every image you've seen before had to be sharpened and level adjusted in software to even look remotely presentable here... This is untouched... I cropped the picture to size, and did nothing... No sharpening, no scaling, no level adjustments... Nuthin'.
    0111190008.jpg

The irony of this post... Is I had to use the old phone to take pictures of the new phone... You can see just how different the image quality is... I STILL did adjustments to the two pictures of the phone!

I still have three items showing up here, but I have to wait for international shipping. I'll post images when they arrive (and of course, reveal them!)
