    I haven't been to the Puyallup show but go to the Portland show almost every year (we have other things we like to do aside from the train show)... how does it compare in size and attendance (vendor-wise) to the Portland show?

    @Bronman

    Moose no have gone to Portland show, so no can make comparison ... It seemed like a well attended show for vendors. First time Moose actually see manufacturing representatives at a show, so that was a nice surprise.

    will be at Portland also as just 50 miles up the road. As for the show sizes they are about the same, but nowhere like they were 10 years ago. About 1/2 as big or less, sad to say.

    Went to a show in Puyallup but it was Oct/Nov a couple years ago. That's what made me switch to N scale. Some of the high tables are difficult to see from a chair. But I understand after watching a few kids running wild. Thanks for the notice.

    The "Great Train Show" folks are putting one on here in Colorado Springs the 2nd and 3rd of February. I'll be showing my layout there. I have no experience with these people, but I thought I would give it a try.

    I just meant that as a comment on the original post, rather than an informational. Even so, I really should scan the calendar once in a while.

    I had to cancel the Puyallup show today sad to say. Doc called yesterday afternoon and moved my sinus surgery up so have to do the pre op testing on Friday afternoon. So no way can I drive up there in time to set up for the show. Will still make the Portland show the next weekend.

    Rich, sorry to hear that ... did you tell the doctor there was a model train show? Surely he would have accommodated the show, had he known...

    Da Mooses just returned from this show ... Yeah, don't bother unless its the only show you're going to this year -- Moose opinion, your expereince may very ... Moose say: "Go to Monroe for their Model Railroad Show in February!"

    Seems like it was not as good as the first "Great Train Show" show in Puyallup that the Mooses attended a few years ago. If Moose recalls correctly, back then, there were a few of the manufacturer reps. at the show like BLI, Moose think possibly maybe Bachmann?, Moose not sure, but it was something Moose was hoping to see this year, but none were there ... Of course, if you're interested, you could talk to the reps. at the "Great Train Show" that were there selling new windows for 1:1 houses, providing information about vacation resorts, etc.

    Thanks for the warning, Moose! My layout and I will be participating in such an event in two weeks. I'm not familiar with this show, so I consider it an experiment.
