    Default Armored Trains

Has anyone ever done any Armored Trains? I've seen Czech/Russian Armored Rail Cruisers, some German artillery cars, and a few others in mainly 1/35 scale plastic kits, but to the best of my knowledge I have never seen anything done in N Scale.

Check out this guy in the UK. His work is absolutely amazing. A good chunk of the front pages covers his bridge build, etc., but he eventually shows off his work on the Armored Trains. Unfortunately, most of the armored trains I have seen is in HO by REI Military. Finding any European period II stuff in N scale is pretty hit or miss with mostly miss. Quite a bit of period III available, but that is all post-war.

I know this isn't quite what you're asking about, but here's a fun n-scale project I 3D printed and painted as a surprise gift for a fellow club member that has caused a couple accidents on the layouts over a years.

Don't know if you mean something like this Hobbytrain K5 Leopold Gun

As long as I can model in N-scale, I know I'm not old

It was working a couple days ago. Try again tomorrow and see if the server is back on-line. The site may be down for maintenance.

Don't know if this counts as an 'armored train' but I was fortunate enough to get this American railgun and related cars many years ago - if I remember right, they were made by N-centric (seems to be no longer in business, he did switch to warship dioramas but I am unable to find anything recent):

Here's a few pictures he showed on eBay where I found it:

I also got the matching Command Car, Ammo Car, Tool Car and idler flatcar:

Looks great with a bunch of other WWII N scale cars I have (I have gotten rid of modern-era military cars since these photos were taken):

There are a bunch of 1/144 kits out there for a german armoured train. This is the only one I could find on short notice mnnRF49Y7MpdWE6S_GftCjQ:rk:1:pf:0" target="_blank">https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-144-Germa...tCjQ:rk:1:pf:0 Obviously you need to do some work to fit 1/160 running gear.
