Hey Sam, is that MKT layout Bret Overholzer's layout?
I'd like to get a chance to see that one, I kind of know his father who lives in Omaha.

Due to severe winter weather my weekend continues... Good news, lots of progress working on my locomotives.

Today I installed a decoder in a Tomix track cleaning car. Works very well! Ran it ran the Unitrack circle, both vacuuming and with the pad. I was surprised how dirty the pad was when I finished.

NOT TRAIN RELATED - But, I picked this up over the weekend (02/09/19).

I had to replace my 2017 Ram. On 01/24/19, while I was stopped in traffic, a kid rear ended me at 60-70 mph. No skid marks, but I think he did try to swerve. He hit the left rear with his right front and did quite a bit of damage to my truck. Moved the axle forward 4" on the left side, bent the frame so bad it buckled the rear of the cab. Me? I walked away with a fractured clavicle and a concussion. (Yes, I had my seat belt on.) The kid was okay, too. Probably better than me. All his airbags protected him.

It doesn't look bad form here, but it totaled my truck.

So, I bought this 2019 Ram to replace my 2017 Ram on 02/09/19. So far, it's done great in the snow we've gotten around here this last week.

That's purdy!!! Glad you are ok (and the kid too). Amazing you both walked away with such a high speed collision. Your air bags didn't go off?

    Nice license plate!

Ouch. Just ouch. So very glad that you're okay. Good thing you had head restraints in your truck; Moose suspect that the restraints ("head rests" if you will) helped limit your injuries...

    Glad your injuries were minor!

Airbags are activated by front impact (or side, in the case of side panel airbags).

@Kingmeow - Thanks, it was a heck of a jolt! Nope, no air bag deployment. The guy at the collision center said they were activated, but the main computer told them not to deploy. That is the 2 red lights on the dash, between the top 2 gauges, a few minutes after impact. Air bag light & seat belt light. There was only 17,555 miles on her. What a shame...

@Moose2013 - Thanks! I am glad my headrest did it's job! I only had a mild concussion. Though the left side of my reclining seat let go/dropped backwards about 8 inches? After impact, I was thrown forward into the door, which accounts for all the bruising on my left side & left shoulder problems. I am still in physical therapy, but gaining ground on using my shoulder/arm, again.

@el Gato Gordo - Thanks! For the most part, yes. And you are correct, the air bags do NOT deploy on a rear end strike, normally. It depends on the computers sensing the impact. (According to the service manager at the collision center.)

Good to know that you are on the mend!

Your description of the seat shifting backwards has Moose concerned. Moose wonder if Dodge should know about this...
