Post Weekend Update (15th Mar 2019)

Please update us on the progress you have made on your MRR projects this week (commencing: 15th Mar 2019).

This weekly thread is to post little snippets about your layout/project progress.
This is not be a substitute for your layout build thread, but just a mini update on what you got done for the week.

You can link from your layout build thread to your posts in this thread as a part of a more extensive post there, or visa-versa (post to your build thread and link to that post when contributing to this thread.

Click on a post's #number (right-hand end of the post header) to get the URL to that particular post in your browsers address bar.
Copy and paste this as needed.

So, fellow nSn'ers, what have you been up to this week?

I glued a bunch of junk to a strip of styrene, painted it, weathered it, stuck it in a gondola and took some pictures. Still need to weather it a bit more but it's not bad.

    Moose been busy-ish...

Put up shelves this past weekend, semi-temporarily hang LED light strips, transfer most of locomotives & rolling stock on shelves, built more liners for layout tunnels, replaced "pizza cutter" wheels with normal wheels on five undecorated boxcars Moose bought, like, ummm, five years ago, started research to replace "pizza cutter" wheels on more freight cars as well as replace Rapido couplers with Unimate couplers on several passenger cars...

I would sure like to see before and after closeups of the wheel change out. I'd do a Fat Cat stampede, but they are all too fat and lazy to get on their feet. Sssshhhh, they're sleeping.

I did not even post an update this week as I figured who would want to see more pepsi on the small amount of track I laid (other tasks keep me busy and was the only picture I took all weekend totally not railroad related), so I figure to avoid the stampede I would not mention it and now the Moose is not posting photos. I say he stampedes himself.

A bit like most of our track plans, 'What goes around, comes around'

I'll let you off though as photos were posted, even if, hidden elsewhere.
    Thanks, Tom

This is less of a "Weekend Update" than a "What have I added since the last show update." Keeping it simple, I added a couple of sunbathers in a park by the Rhein River, picnicking with wine a bread. The wine bottle and the stemmed glasses were toothpicks, which I chucked into the battery drill and turned like a lathe:

The hard part was printing the Schwarze Katze label for the wine bottle.

Next up are two priests returning from the Bahnhof after a long trip and catching a monk listening to the propositions of a couple of hookers:

No visit to Rothenburg ob der Tauber is complete without a visit to Käthe Wohlfahrt's Christmas store. Christmas 365 days a year! The family exiting the store, piled down with packages, represents my brother's family.

At the February show in Colorado Springs, someone noted the absence of a KW store, so I quick mocked one up. Here is the original store:

    2019-02-07 11.30.08.jpg

Lastly, I added a balloon seller to the carnival scene. He apparently over-sold to a little girl.

Now to go play with - I mean, "operate" - trains!
