Default JTC Releases APRIL - First Time in N Scale - Flatracks with Collapsible ends

NEW FLATRACKS RELEASE: - Hello N Scale Modelers,

If you like to hear the words "First time in N-scale" or "Never been done before in N-scale" well JTC's product line is just for you. We have an extensive action packed 2019 new product line release schedule that will support the "Firsts" to the market for N-scale. With that being said, the flatracks were shipped to our national distributors and direct dealers on Wednesday of this week. Each Jewel Box pack contains 6 total models; (2) 20ft Standard, (2) 40ft Standard, and (2) 40ft High Cube. Each pair in the individual sets are the same paint schemes but have different numbers.

We have loads coming in 2019 that will compliment these models on any layout. Each model is equipped with magnets for a variety of layout situations, such as flat stacking, stacking of JTC containers, Chassis connection, and our loads with metal plates, which will NOT fall off during run time. If you have any suggested loads and photos please send them our way to be considered for production. We also look forward to seeing the variety of customized Loads that N Scalers will make for these flatracks.

Here are the links to each six pack set. They should be getting to dealers next week so be on the lookout.

Baron, Yes I want some too! - search google for FLATRACKS and flatrack loads - you will be amazed at how they are used, both in the US and Internationally, and the variety. Think of the possibilities for Loads!

Would it be possible to get some undercoated ones for cheaper? What makes them so much more expensive than a set of 6 containers, or even a locomotive?

It's because they're like the intermodal version of Transformers

I believe the answer to that question will be clear, once you see them in person. The six models have as much, or more printing hits as most locomotives, and they are hand assembled to get the intricate parts to hold the Collapsible ends, it was no small engineering feat to get this to work out in an RTR N scale model. They were not cheap to Tool, and to produce(paint decorated and hand assemble) to our standards. They are beautifully representative of the prototypes, and very detailed in molding and printing, we have worked hard to provide the best product available for the money. Since these have never been made before, we decided that a multi-pack for the first two releases would be most beneficial and save several dollars over individual packaging. Some Modelers may want to split a set between them, if you don't need all six.

That said, I noticed today that some stores with on-line ordering have a discount :O, averaging at about $15 each or less !

Undecs are not available at this time, however we will try to work a run of them in the schedule.

With that being said would anybody be interested in splitting a pack? If we can get 4-6 people it shouldn't be that bad to give them a shot

If you want undecorated, Fine-N-Scale makes flatracks without the bulkheads and N-scale kits makes them with the bulkheads.

The JTC ones are cool because the bulkheads collapse. You do occasionally see stacks of 3 or 4 of them riding an intermodal car with the racks collapsed.

Yeah, I imagine a hollow box with some printing on it is much much less work than one of these with moving parts and many sides and angles that all need extremely detailed printing, it's more like buying a limited-run high-detailed vehicle.

Here is a link to a flatrack with a Komatsu excavator as the cargo. https://www.oceannet.nl/en/flatracks

And, here is the N scale equivalent. Well almost, the excavator is 1:150 scale.
