Default Replacement motor for Atlas H16-44

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a replacement motor/flywheel assembly for an Atlas H16-44 loco. The current one - well, it had a run-in with a soldering iron. Didn't go well.

I checked the Atlas website but they have none listed in stock. Is this part custom to the H16-44, or is there a motor from another loco that would work as a stand-in?

    Many thanks,

    Patrick

If you just need the plastic brush housing any atlas should work you just need to tap the rear flywheel off. Also I've seen these motors on eBay that atlas uses for dirt cheap here's 2 for $2.50 shipped.

to get the flywheel off take your Dremel wheel straight into a piece of steel about 1/8" thick and use a 1.5mm screwdriver and hammer to tap the motor shaft until it falls out the flywheel.
