    Default Loc sound code 255

I have a loc sound decoder not sure which one, but when I try to program the decoder using my NCE power cab, it comes up 255 on everything. When I try to change cv8 to reset decoder,
that comes up as 255. When I set it on my rollerstand it automatically starts running and all sound files go off but after that no sound no throttle response. Any ideas?

Power cab may not have enough juice to program it . I belive there is a way to use a resistor to do it , but you'll have to wait for someone else to weigh in on that one .

I would be looking for a short! Motor to frame most likely. The Power Cab will program most all decoders.
need more information to be able to trouble shoot.
    what locomotive? What decoder?

Well the GS-4 is very touchy . Do you know if this is a first run of the 4449.
If so the first run units had problems with the drivers hitting the frame and causing a short.
