    Default Bachmann E-1

Bachmann is bringing back the EM-1. IMHO one the the best N scale engines ever built.

Yawn. I'm so tired of 'showy' but very, very limited prototypical usage locomotives. The industry seems to cater to the dust collectors, not the actual model railroader.

Oh my. I resisted buying one last time because I had too many B&O locomotives. Maybe this time I can convince myself to replace my ancient ConCor/RivaRossi 2-8-8-0 (which I suspect is not really an EL class).

I have three of them. They are powerful. I can get 13 cars up a 2-1/2 percent grade. I even use them to pull Kato and Micro B&O passenger cars.

Meh. I added sound to mine when the first run came out.

The EM-1s are amazing pullers. I run 60+ twin bay coal drags with ease.

I own three of these brutes.

One of them has an issue where the rear drivers will lock up in reverse after a couple inches of moving.
Long story short, Bachmann has said that they will replace it IF/WHEN they do a new production run. That was 3 years ago they told me this.
I am hoping that they honor their word.

I'm not allowed to run the train, the whistle I can't blow. I'm not allowed to say how fast the Railroad Train can go.
I'm not allowed to shoot off steam, nor even clang the bell. But let the damned Train jump the track, and see who catches hell!
