Default My city model is no more....

I have dismantled and thrown out my n scale city model which many of you I'm sure have seen....I have kept one block, i am going to re-do this block and add to it....Just wondered, anyone had any misgivings with Lunde studios.....I just ordered some kits worth $224....the site says that when the order goes through they re- calculate the shipping costs outsude the US....anyway the payment went through and it ended there, I tried to e mail them from their website but it said, we cant be contacted at the moment....I paid by paypal, so will I be covered....?in the past I have been aware of mixed reviews of Lunde studios....https://www.flickr.com/photos/351862...-nbL5VT-ntfho8

Wow I'm sorry to hear your city has been demolished! While I'm shocked, I'm sure the next iteration will be even more amazing!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! YOU DID WHAT?!?!?! Ok, ok, now that the shock has worn off...
What happened? Did you have to move or something?

I think the Lunde Studios is pretty great product, but I've never bought any. I've met and talked to the owner a couple of times and held the finished product in my hands. He designed most or maybe all of the old DPM structures and these (LS) are even better. His shop is about an hour and a half away from where I live. Keep in mind that it's run by two guys that are semi retired and hardly know how to use a computer. Also his wife helps with the business side of things but she is disabled and only works certain days. I think Bob is 80 or 90 years old or something crazy. You may not get Amazon level shipping speed here. That said, I think you will like the product.

I was never really happy with it...I think us creative types are self critical...I know I am....anyway last year half of it stopped lighting up and it was SO long since I finished it that I just had no clue how to put it right...I am keeping one block which has detailed interiors and I am going to add to that and hopefully lessons are learned and it will be much improved on the old model.....

    Greg:

    Great, Urban, N-Scale modellers

First, Scaper. Next Jimmi. Then Quinntopia. Now you are rebuilding.

Where have all the urban modellers gone?

Not sure how he does the shipping, but if he does like I do and refund any overage after it is packed and ready to go you should be fine.

Overseas shipping pricing is a guessing game no way to get it right. All depends on what country it goes to and size and weight. I can ship to Australia
cheaper then to Canada which is 200 miles to the north plus it gets to Australia faster.
What used to mail first class for 5 dollars now has to go first class package at 10-15 for the same 3 oz package Crazy for sure. Plus if over 4 pounds has
to go priority and sit down for that pricing.

Greg where are your pictures located at now?
    What size are in width?
    ie: 800 pixels wide.

model outland 5.jpgmodel outland 4.jpgmodel outland 3.jpgmodel outland 2.jpgmodel outland 1.jpgOk I managed to upload smaller pictures, my files were just too large...thanks for the advice....Allen H. I saw your response about file sizes and realized what I needed to do.....anyway...This is my latest kit bash....a model from 'Outland'....I bought 3 snap together kits...so far I have put this together, I allowed for it to fit together in 2 parts because of feeding lights through it or any general maintenance in the future....I put a skylight on the roof which will allow light to feed through too....it was red plastic, I used matt acrylic paint to dull and darken it and this is the result SO FAR.....nowhere near complete yet but I'm happy with it so far.....

Looks excellent! But where is the elevator equipment room? Too tall for hydraulic.

There isn't one at the moment but remember its not finished yet.......I decided to leave it out at the minute purely because I wanted to because of the aesthetics......
