Default One man's junk is another man's treasure - old trucks

Does anyone have a supply of the old 2 axle trucks (with Rapido couplers) that used the metal u-shaped retainer with bendable tabs to hold the spring and coupler in place? I've exhausted my supply and need some more for a project.

Dave, I have a few those Atlas trucks that I'll let go of. PM me your address and I'll send them to you.

Big fan of those myself. They accept Kato couplers very nicely.

I use them on my ore cars............if you remove one coupler and on the other end, trim the hook on the rapido till it resembles the T shank you can get a nice close coupling setup. The empty coupler box slides right over the modified coupler and pulls the cars nice and close. I build them in 20 car sets/ Each end has a MT coupler and all the rest use the modified coupling method. You can't use the newer Rapido trucks because they have a plastic strip across the bottom of the coupler box and are open on the top.

I believe Minitrix uses the same setup with metal clip.

A lot of manufacturers used them back in the 70's.........but that was 40 years ago and there aren't many left.

Rodsup9000.......I received the trucks yesterday. Thank You very much. I couldn't read the shipping cost.....looked like something and 70 cents. Let me know and I'd be glad to reimburse you.

Just sorry it took so long to get mailed. I keep forgetting to take them with me whenever I was close to the PO.
