    Question Who makes the Fox Valley Erie Loco?

    Who makes the Fox Valley SD70ACe Erie RR Loco? I see them listed on eBay under different brand names. I just received my Fox Valley version and it is beautiful. After break-in it seems to be a tad slow in forward & reverse. Could be the nature of the beast? I flipped the loco over and checked for a manufacturer. To my surprise, everything on the bottom of the loco is blank. All the different ones listed on eBay show the same stock pics with the same Road # 1068. I'm just curious who makes the loco. The only paperwork I got with the loco was a parts breakdown. Thanks, Smitty

    Fox valley is the brand name, they make them. They are a bit slower by nature
    Did someone say whitcomb?

    Is there a manufacturer/country of origin on the box?

    Yes, on one end of the box below the Fox Valley address in Il. it says "Made in China". Smitty

    They are made in China at some anonymous factory (the name of which is never disclosed in any of the packaging). Fox Valley Models of Des Plaines, Illinois is the importer.

    I miss the days when import models actually said who made them (EG "Made in Italy by Rivarossi", etc).

    Yeah, me too. Reading what you wrote, Mark, gave me a nostalgia wave -- getting a new Atlas D&RGW GP-9 in summer 1978, when they still had the red gears. I think they were still made by Roco in Austria. ...
