I started long, long ago in a town far, far away... One of the few things I can remember from my childhood is when my dad would get out his O scale trains he had as a child and let me make a “layout” on the floor. Then (from what I can guess) he bought me a O27 set so I wouldn’t destroy his Lionel; and I caught the bug. At some point I decided to take over the basement after discovering HO, until I discovered the hobby that had me hooked for 35yrs, which was R/C car racing. I was getting burned out when my wife took a transfer at work and it moved us from OH to WA. A year after the move I was given permission by my wife to build a layout. Since I still had all of my rolling stock and some switches from my old layout I started designing a HO layout. After some time I decided I couldn’t do what I wanted to, I gave up. Then my awesome wife asked why not N scale? At that point I became a N scaler... Then I found nScale.net...

    Careful. It's a slippery slope.
