    Default Canadian Pacific SD70ACU Heritage Locomotives

    Haven't seen this mentioned on here yet, but two weeks ago CP unveiled a pair of SD70ACU locomotives in the tuscan & grey heritage scheme. Hopefully someone has these available in N scale by Christmas.

    Would definitely interest me.

    If I'm reading the article correctly, they are the shelved SD9043MACs rebuilt internally. So Kato could re-issue their SD9043MACs rebranded as SD70ACU and painted in the heritage scheme. I think I got one of those MACs sitting around in my collection.

    Unfortunately Kato can't just repaint an SD9043MAC. In addition to the internals, the cabs are being replaced with ones similar to the SD70ACe. There are also some minor differences just behind the new cabs. Here are links to before and after pictures of CP 7002, formerly CP 9108:

    The version with the Script lettering really catches your eye.
    The scheme fits well on the newer locos as well.

    Dohs. So one would need a SD9043MAC and a SD70ACe lying around and not in use, and combine them together. Plus a few other modifications judging from the linked pictures. Or Kato would need to create a model from the two of them.

    Interesting project if I had the latter locomotive lying around.

    Those are a couple of good looking locos!
    I hope CP expands on their heritage fleet with other paint schemes.

    There will be more of these coming. CP has 8 more Heritage units planned before the end of the year. I was told they are doing 5 each of these paint schemes.

    I just remembered someone a few years back doing a "What if" N scale AC4400CW or ES44AC painted in a CP heritage paint scheme, just can't find it on line anymore.

    As has been said, that paint scheme is one of the best around I think AND it would look great on on an ES44AC or AC44CW.

    Agatheron did an SD90 a few years ago: https://www.nscale.net/forums/showth...tage-CP-Scheme

    @gareth_14 Yeah, thats the one!
    Looks like the person that commissioned the loco from @Agatheron had quick look into a crystal ball having a SD90/43MAC painted into an heritage paint scheme back then and now CP rebuilding stored SD90/43MACs and painting them the same way.
    Or maybe the commissioner works for CP.....
