Default MB Kline Closing their retail store

Ran across this and thought it was interesting...definitely the trend and an end of an era where you could walk the aisles. Good news is they are going on-line only and sounds like making investments for the future.

I don't think you had the ability to walk the isles for a while. I thought they reduced the walk in store to a few display cabinets and some ordering kiosks a couple years ago.

Poor writing on my part - I wasn't thinking MB Klein specifically but rather your local hobby shops in general. Here in Denver, Caboose Hobbies shut down a couple years ago and replaced by Caboose. The shelves are so bear it isn't worth the 30 min drive to the store any longer because you cannot even pick up the most basic of supplies.

I guess that means they won't have access to Athearn products anymore?

We were in Denver in late September and stopped in.
I'd been warned but the others wanted to stop so we did.

I was surprised at how much N they did have on hand, but the prices weren't anything to write home about.
What shocked me the most were the bare shelves.
The glue supplies were pretty much wiped out.
The side of Evergreen rack that had the most items hanging on it was barely a 1/4 full.
We got the feeling like they were in the final throes of a "Going out of business" sale?

I talked to someone after the trip and they said the owner was planning to restock this fall?
For a town the size of Denver, it was pretty disheartening....nothing compared to the original Caboose Hobbies!

I remember going there for the first time in 1984. My buddy and I took a huge breath before walking in that store.
We were so overwhelmed that we just wondered around that place all afternoon and didn't buy anything! Didn't know where to start?
    The next day however, LOL.....

I never got a chance to go into their new shop. Although I've been in the one in downtown Baltimore a couple of times.
