    Default Life on Mars !

Well, I had an Alien building spree and then came to my senses and wandered what to do with them ?
    IMG_0235 (2).jpg
The first thing that popped into my head was, 'make some more' !!!
    IMG_0231 (2).JPG
I now had sixteen little aliens and 'still' didn't know what to do with them ? Obvious, make them a UFO !
    IMG_0240 (2).jpg x.jpg
Well I could hardly leave it blocking '275' up mail !! I had to come up with a more permanent idea ? Where do 'ALL' UFOs come from ? Mars of course Do you know how big an N scale Mars would be ? I don't but I do sure know it wouldn't fit inside my train room. So, I came to a compromise. As all best N scalers do. I have decided to make a minnie Mars. Or to be more precise, a little hollow meteorite for them to live in.

In the pictures below, you will have to imagine that you are looking at a rock with oval windows that show its interior.
    J.jpg K.jpg I.jpg
I am without doubt that WP&P will be stumpt to improve on its complex and brilliantly technical track plan that will keep the keenest of switchers amused for hours I think I got the A&D track just the right length !

I have made a start by hollowing out a roadbed for a circle of 4 1/2" Tomix tram track.
    IMG_0625.jpg

    More to come.
    Thanks, Tom

Ack! Are you trying to give Moose heart attack?!

Hmmm, Moose no knew Allen had so many relatives living in France ... Why does that remind Moose of Dan Akroyd, Jane Curtain and Laraine Newman?

    Where is the interchange track?

I mean, how are the rest of us going to plausibly run ore cars laden with whatever is coming out from that rock on our layouts, if there's no actual connection to the outside world? I want to run an ore jenny with a fluorescent-painted load in it!

Might not necessarily be a rail connection. One has to think outside the box when one is dealing with Mars. Is that UFO a freighter ?

If you make a translucent load for your 'jenny' and fit pick ups, I'll send you two green LEDs as a present I've still got hundreds of the damn things !!!

Believe me, I'm in toned down mode for this forum I edit out about 237.3% of what I post to save me getting the boot

I'm not sure what 'thocka' means so I will interpret what you're trying to say is; sane, intelligent and intellectual brilliance

The next steamer build will be something special and a little left of center. !!! But I'll not start it until 'The Meteorite' is finished ! So lots of patients

A little work tonight saw the meteorite start to take shape. The window openings will be greatly enlarged and the whole thing 'hacked' into a better shape.

Ohhhhh! I see what you are doing now... I thought it was going to be more disk shaped. What you are doing is waaaaay better!

    VERY cool concept.

Unfortunately the illustrations I painted in the first post didn't come out as 3d as intended. So yeh, not very clear. At the moment it's looking a bit too much like a football. I will re shape it once it's all glued up. I want to create a kind of bumpy rock look !
