    Default Wee Corner of Town...

Moose started work on the northwest corner of layout where a corner of the town and small park will be visible.

Moose started road and first building, and realize need ideas for building colours. Took some photos of period buildings around Seattle for reference.

Will post photos of build when have more time. Yes, Moose knows the rules: post photos of build progress or it no happen. Bad Moose. Bad bad bad!

    Road construction:

Moose scribed the sidewalks to make it more sidewalky looking ... Still have to apply some touch-up paint to sidewalk edges, and then maybe venture into making some kind of road grime.

And, yep, grey a wee bit darker than Moose had hoped. Oh well...

Start of first building ... Had to apply some putty to gaps between roof and side pieces, and Moose means BIG gaps...

Need to apply more coats of grey primer, and then decide on what colours to paint exterior! :bounce:

Be careful, Moose! Starting to build urban buildings can be hazardous to your modeling health!

And the photos look like they were taken in the kitchen area... Mrs. Moose might not be happy!

Add plenty of weathering to those sidewalks and streets. Maybe some moose prints.

Be careful not to paint all the buildings the same brick color. While many time the color is similar, because of the natural origin of clay the colors will vary. Age will even affect what you perceive.

Use similar paint colors from completely different manufactures. Their subtle differences will make your models look better.

Moose - If you have some light grey or white rattle can spray, you can lighten it up. Hold the can about 12" or so and spray it. Idea being to disburse the paint, and get it almost dry before it hits your concrete. It should give you a good mix of colors.
