    Default What's it take to lengthen a siding?

    A little bit of plywood and some wider risers, right? Here's what it took CSX to change the Stouts siding, in Indian Trail, NC, from a 3,800' siding used by the local to run around or store a few cars, to a siding useful for meeting trains, about 14,000' long.

    Amazing how detailed you have to get so that the contractor doesn't screw it up. I wonder what they are supposed to do with the 15,700 (yards? tons?) of "unsuitable soils".
