In case anyone was wondering about the basis of the MT&P RR identification testing shown in the Weekend Update thread, here's some recent purchases for your bewilderment...

Picked up a Monon caboose by Atlas (fourth Monon caboose I have now). Also bought a NKP caboose by Bluford Shops but turns out it was the # I already have...found the other and managed to order the one I need. Still have an extra though.

And now Moose has sticker shock! Or, to be more accurate, decal shock?

Moose now wait for decal proof to be prepared (yeah, The Bill is quick!)...

Default Found an interesting Atlas car

I found this car sitting at the bottom of a display case, long forgotten at a PA hobby shop. It was a 2013 Atlas release of an FGE 50' boxcar. It has the NYC restencil reporting marks used by CSX for the Conrail split up between NS and CSX. They only wanted 7.99 for it. I asked the clerk twice if that was the right price in disbelief. He said it has been there for years he was happy to sell it. I consider this one of my best bargain finds.

This month I picked up the Bavarian (Bayern) celebration Control Cab (Steuerwagen) and another double-decker 2nd class car, both of the Südostbayernbahn, by Fleischmann. I have not yet had the chance to light the Doppelstockwagen, or to populate either of them. The paint scheme on the Control Cab is promotional for Bavaria. Great place to vacation!

These just came yesterday. I am hoping to be able to post more stuff on this thread in a week or two!

By the way, this photo came out crisp in the original, but reducing its size to 800 by 450 pixels sure wreaked havoc with reading the print on the sides of the cars!
    Cheers!

Afraid not. A new ICE 3 with sound by Arnold. A Doppelstock Triebwagen with sound by Brawa. The new ICE 4, also with sound, by Kato. Hoping for the Kato and Brawa models this month.

If they all come at once I may have to dip into my 401rr!

I figured it could be the wrong era for you.
I'm waiting for the Fleischmann 44s, though. They're scheduled for release this week

Key word: "scheduled." I'm still waiting for a Trix E 10 that was scheduled for release in the fall of 2018.

I know. I promised myself I'd stay away from preorders long time ago, but I want to make sure !
It was initially set for some weeks ago, but it looks like Fleischmann is in fact updating and it's been holding at week 50 for some time now while others have slipped, so fingers crossed ...
