    Question Members near Sidney NY?

Want to find someone else in N scale near me. Had thought about organizing a group of N scalers to possibly start a club. Any advice is appreciated.

2.5 hours from me. A bit far to be practical, and a direction I'm almost never in for other reasons... But if you get something going, might be able to drop by on occasion. Best of luck!

I'm in the Finger Lakes area about 2.5 hours from you. Not sure about a "Club" per se but perhaps a monthly get together some where might be an idea?

IIRC, you're not far from Fair Haven Beach State Park.

Tony, I've been through Watkins Glen for work reasons. Is that anywhere close to you?

Watkins Glen is about a 45 minute ride from me. Do you know where Hornell is? If you do I am about 15 minutes from there up 36.

Might look like that on the map but I can get to Binghampton in about an hour. Your a little north of there so while it isn't just up the road, it isn't that far.

I forgot about running out on 17 as far as possible the heading north. I can make Owego in normally 50 minutes.

Who, me? Yes. About 20 minutes from me, actually play with a community band there every summer.

Edit: updated my location to be closer to my actual location, moved twice locally since I put that address in, lol.

I'm sorry for not putting names to messages. Andrew, you were correct. I went twice a year there to camp for a week at a time. That was before kids though. Loved to go to Bev's in Oswego for dinner.

Guessing you're remembering the locally famous Rudy's for fish dinner. Oh yeah!
Bev's is the ice cream stand next door, best place for ice cream in town, my favorite is the strawberry cheesecake.
(Or maybe you just eat ice cream for dinner?)

Looked at your profile, looks like you're a modeller who's low on space, budget, and time like me? I'm just starting to build some mini modules based on a mini version of Free-Mo with 6" wide endplates.

You're correct on both restaurants Andrew. The burgers at Rudy's were awesome & then the biggest chocolate shake they had. Now if I were to go there it would be the shake only. Can't eat like I used to. Also correct on budget, time and space. When I can get a layout other than a circle of track on the floor, it will be if NS & SUSQUEHANNA actually connected here instead of Binghamton. I'm originally from Norwich...Susie Q territory. My twin 5 year old boys love watching "Daddy's trains" when I run them on the holidays.
