    Default Fyten Furniture

Been working on this for awhile now. I've made quite a few revisions and some of them don't show up in some of these renderings.
Some of the changes are window and door locations.
Windows, doors, corner moldings, and other details will be printed on the photon. The walls will be cut on the laser out of 1/32nd thick .040 scribbed basswood. Notheastern Scale Lumber only has clapboard siding in 1/16th thick and I want to use 1/32nd thick stock. With the thicker stock, it harder to hide the corner joints.

This will be the track side dock.

I know for whom that structure's named! Operated on Mike's very impressive S scale layout about 10 years ago.

    Paul,

You need to find your way to the KC area again sometime. We have a few more new layouts that will be starting OP's sessions within the next year or so.

Yes, Mike's layout is a very nice one to operate on.

Here is the final layouts ready for cutting. I'll be using Northeasten, 1/32nd thick, .040 scribed basswood siding for all the walls. Before I cutting, I'm sealing the basswood with oil based sanding sealer to keep the walls warping when painting. Roofs will be cut from 1/32nd thick basswood sheet. I haven't decided what shingles I'll be using, but leaning toward shakes.

Here is the foundation that will be printed on one of the FDM printers. The dock areas will use 1/32nd thick, .025 scribed basswod.

Looking really good. It makes me wish I had a cutter and printer. I don't have more layout to build on, though. I really want to make some cement trucks. I could at least find room for those.

I hope to have one finished real soon. When I have one done, I'll post some pictures.

It's glued together and painted a grayish brown. I'm ready for windows and doors.

Windows were drawn and printed a while back.

Then as I was going to sleep last night, I was thinking of getting this all together and realized that all the windows I had were in the closed position. I'm modeling late July through late September in 1953 to '55. So, I would want to think that some of the windows would be open. The great thing about making your own windows is that can be done. Now I can put the lower window in any position

I guess I'm back to printing more windows.
