OUPS! I had a big accident Friday. I installed the garage door opener that I was going to use for the lift gate. 20200212_125325 (2).jpg one side would lift sooner than the other side so it would go up crooked, so I messed with the tension and tried again. I thought I had it when I heard a big crash. one side slipped and the hole thing bent over and the opener keeps going that ripped the hole thing apart. So I cut it all up, I was so pisted that I did not take pictures. Saturday I started over this time I was going for a Z gate.20200216_173119.jpg this is the front of it without the back drop. 20200216_173205.jpg You can see kind of what I am going for. 20200216_173146 (1).jpg 20200216_173218 (1).jpg Each one will have it's own backdrop and power. I'm going to use 3/4" Earth magnets to help keep in line and line up the same each time it is used.

I figured out where I went wrong on the lift gate. I cut the cord that I was using into two pieces. If you pull from one point you should only need one cord. I should have run the cord from one side to the other and keepet the cord hole so it could not slip, it would just be adjustable (slip) at the pulling point. Then if that still moved to much , I could hook a spring on both sides of the pull point and to the cord on each side. Making it self centering when power is applied. Oh well maybe this will help the next person that tries this.

Got some work done on the science divides.20200218_134640.jpg painted everything white first, then got out the oops paints I have been buying for years. 20200218_140828.jpg then moved to the in side of this corner and did the same thing. 20200220_105240.jpg glued up some more on the grades, over to where the yard will be. 20200220_105223.jpg

If those hinges on the gate are not precise enough - too much wiggle room - try door hinges.

I only got a 1/16th drop in 40". On the other end I used four 3/4" earth magnets and they line up exactly every time. pluss each end has a 2"+ shelf that it slides on, so far it is lining up every time. But I think I might look in to the commercial hinges that self close. Not sure if closing on its own every time is a good idea throw . Thanks for the suggestion!

20200221_143032.jpg20200221_143022.jpg This is what I thought would be a good space for this. 20200221_143708.jpg Then in the corner will have the engine faculty and yard with the main in the back to center (4th track in of six). 20200221_143704.jpg 20200221_143758.jpg the next one is where the town starts and it will have 6ft bridge across it. 20200221_143038.jpg

I fixed the end of the skies.20200222_135507.jpg 20200222_135452.jpg 20200222_135441.jpg and then sanded them to fit. 20200223_110648.jpg 20200223_110656.jpg 20200223_110715.jpg and added to the yard already. 20200222_182322.jpg 20200222_182244.jpg now I think I will get out some paint agan.
