    Default Paint scheme question

I have the above LPG tank car and I've looked up one side of the internet and down the other and can't find when this paint scheme was in use. Seriously, I've been very thorough in my search. I'm hoping there were some of them that made it into the 1990's without being repainted into a monochrome scheme, or else it's going to have to go. Anybody know if this scheme made it to the 1990's?

Well, that would explain why I can't find any prototype info then...

I'd check the reporting mark against https://www.railserve.com/aar_railro...ing_marks.html and see if it's even close to valid.

Then, I'd try googling the reporting mark and car number to see if anything pops up.

The reporting marks are CNTX 1314. CNTX is Continental Tank Car Company, definitely a valid reporting mark. Googling the reporting mark just gives you lots of hits for the model only. So far the CNTX prototype cars I could find (not many) are painted either solid white or solid black.

I just checked the reporting mark against my ORER and that car WAS in service in 1993, but of course no photo, so I don't know if the paint scheme is prototypical or fantasy.

It does, shows the paint scheme is real. We still don't know how long it survived though.

How did you find those on Fallen Flags? I had checked it with no luck. Even knowing they are there now I still can't find them.

    I found this image today:

You can see the LPG tank car in the background. Anyone know what year that truck is? Both look very new; I'm guessing the photo is from the late 60's/early 70's.
