Question Kato Alco RS 2 Diesel

My grandson got this Kato diesel at a train show and it has very small knuckle couplers on it compared to the magnetic couplers he has on a few of his rolling stock he got with a train set he got for his birthday. Do you have any suggestions for a replacement magnetic coupler to fit this unit? Thanks for the help in advance

Do you have any photos of the couplers on the locomotive currently and any photos of what you're trying to switch over to?

Assuming it still has the plastic clips that hold the couplers in place, MTL 1015's are the standard replacement for that model.

Assuming magnetic couplers is referring to micro trains couplers, and assuming the small couplers on the RS2 are Kato’s McHenry couplers, there is a modification you can make to enable them to work together. I performed this very modification on my Kato NW2 and it worked great for me.
Here is the link I used for the mod https://teamtrackmodels.com/how-to-fix-kato-couplers/

    Hope this helps

The only production run was back in 1999 and they all started out life with Rapido-style couplers. If the model in question has something else, it's something that some previous owner cooked up.

And pics keep @Moose2013 happy, greatly diminishing the possibility of a Moose Stampede during these troubled times, not to mention that a surgical mask is not yet available that fits a moose.

We must keep the Stampede Curve as flat as possible. ...

Got a good laugh out of that one, Paul.
BTW, the wife has been sewing masks up the last 4 days. I bet she could make one to fit "the moose" if he decides he needs a stampede.

Wait a second! Are we violating all sorts of Physics law? How can a stampede happen when you have to keep a 6 foot distance? You can't be at two places at once unless there are two Moos.....never mind.

Obeying the 6 foot distance order is like faking a stampede!

I have it on good authority that the virus only attacks us lowly humans
and not the moose or wombats of the world.
Yes I talk to myself, I sometime need expert advise.
