Default Trainworx Yellow Freight K100 Day Cab Kit

Pat has announced a new truck kit. It is a Kenworth K100 day cab in the Yellow Freight System paint scheme. The model will only be available direct from Trainworx.

This is the first release of the KW K100 in the day cab configuration!

Where does one turn to learn more about the history of truck models and companies, especially in the regulated era? Is here a do-it-all trucking encyclopedia that railroad modelers should invest in?

Try trucking forums such as https://hankstruckforum.com/htforum/ , Wikipedia(usually pretty good IMHO), general internet search, youtube(I've found several history related channels), image hosting sites like flickr, books, etc. The sad part is Hank had a great photo site that he took down last year due to the cost of hosting and folks not following copyright procedures. Or ask questions on on forums such as these. I worked in trucking for most of my career staring in the mid 1980's and probably know enough to be dangerous. I was in management.

Why Yellow is orange explained in this old Yellow new hire video. It was all about safety.

I ordered a couple. They will work well on my layout.

I am sure there will be many vendors buying the kits direct from Trainworx and reselling them, but the kits are not going to be in the typical distribution chain of manufacturer to distributor to hobby shop.

Anybody know how to direct order from them. I was all over the Trainworx site and could not find that option (likely overlooking something vary obvious)

Just send an email to trainworx@wic.net telling Pat what you want and he’ll take care of you.
