Given that the world is not completely standardized Do indirect comparisons matter?

If I could find a Mr Softy van in 1/160, 1/150 and 1/148 then there might be a problem. But many architectural details change dimensions depending on the application. A door on a cathedral can hardly be compared to the same on a thatched stone hut. Even across North America or for that matter any one city, many doors are not “standard”. Go into any big box hardware or lumberyard and you find doors from 24”(60cm) to 36”(90cm) wide, if not taller and wider or shorter and narrower.

An incredible number of European structure kits aren’t HO or N(any of them) but were sold to both. This even continued when the kits crossed the pond and were sold in North America. Some kits only changed details on the ground floor.

True. Wider doors are used residentially for folks in wheelchairs and commercially in hospitals, for example.

@Janbouli - what have you seen that is closer? I agree more options for storefronts would be ideal. This would enable more scratch building!

I have used DPM fronts on other buildings or kitbashed them , Doesn't monsterworks have 1 or 2 fronts and I think with a little searching there are others . It would be great if these didn't turn out too big , maybe Chicago is right and it's nothing very obvious .
I would love a whole bunch of fronts and columns and cornices and things like that .
