    Default Trans Siberian Guided Tour

A few members have expressed an interest in seeing some pictures of the Trans Siberian Railroad guided tour my husband and I took in 2017. I've created an album that you can find on my profile page or in the gallery. I tried to make the titles of the pictures self explanatory. However, I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Wow, what an epic trip! I am always fascinated how in other countries some things are built very differently from what I am used to seeing while other things are built the same. And that sleeper looks bigger than Amtrak's.

Which Moscow station is that the one I was in I do not remember looking that nice? I travelled via Leningradski station to St Petersburg.

Our itinerary doesn't say which train station it was in Moscow. The only reason I saw that part of the station was because I snuck out of our holding area to visit a washroom. The rest of the station that we saw was pretty bleak.

Which sleeper looks bigger than Amtrack? The first 2 trains did have very nice accommodation. However, we had 2 teen roommates in the Trans Siberian one and the Trans Mongolian sleeper is meant to hold 4 people also. On the other hand, third class sleepers on any of the trains had no walls for privacy, just the ones required to cantilever the bunks (see picture) and we had to pass through a number of them to get to the dining car.

Thank you, Lynda! It will take a while, but I am very much enjoying the photos. You put some thought and effort into the presentation, which is appreciated. What an epic journey on one of the greatest engineering achievements of railroading.

I would guess it's Yaroslavsky station. According to Wikipedia, that's the Moscow terminal for the trans siberian.
