Despite its occasional inner turmoils, the good ol' US of A is still a great nation that's done great things, and will do great things again!

Never perfect, founded by imperfect men, sometimes egregiously wrong, but always with a conscience to strive towards what is right and to realize its founding principles enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, which enables change to occur.

This grand republic always emerges from tribulation the better for having gone through it. So we can still say "Happy Independence Day" proudly!

“If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”
    - President Abraham Lincoln

Well said Paul! Well said!! Hope all have a great 4th remembering all it cost to achieve and maintain the freedoms we enjoy!!!

Started Independence day by chasing a train, that never came out until way later! But did get to watch the sunrise out east of town over the badlands. Consolation came later when I caught the train leaving town,

Northern Pacific and Black Hills RR in N, of course!!

Hope you all have a happy and safe Fourth of July! To our British friends, congratulations on the anniversary of getting rid of those pesky colonials.
