Default Cross Posted from Train Board - Micro Trains - Oregon Fire

    https://www.trainboard.com/highball/...n-lost.133597/

There are at least 4 employees who lost their homes. I know I own a fair amount of Microtrains stuff and they are USA made, which make me very happy. Sad news about all these fires.

    Micro-Trains survived: https://www.micro-trains.com/index.p...ormation_id=52

And so did forum member Michael Whiteman, who lives in the area. His mobile home park was the only one in Talent, Ore., to escape unscathed. Three others were burnt to the ground.

This immense fire, which affected thousands of people in Southwest Oregon, was set by an arsonist, who has been arrested.

It's been one week since the fires started here in my community of Talent OR home of MicroTrains. I live a mile up the road toward Pheonix which has been pretty much burned to the ground. I rode my bike down to the MT factory during the fire to find a large apartment complex on the opposite side of the street totally engulfed in flames. This whole area looks much like WW2 Germany after the allied air strikes. It's by the grace of God that my home survived. Over 900 did not. Borate bombers and helicopters put on a spectacular air show at the end of my street all afternoon. Power was restored in six days and I'm back in the house feeling very blessed. TV has made us all desensitized to these disasters until they appear in your back yard.

Very glad to hear you two made it through the hell.
I did get your message last night and tried calling last night but no answer.
    I'll try again tonight.

I dunno, the stuff on TV is scary scary scary. Way out here in Michigan the size of all of it is brought home by looking up at the sky which is white. Forecasters say not to expect to see blue up there until well into October.

At the opposite end of the spectrum we are worried about our friends in Gulf Shores.
