I really, really want the Wednesday boxcar to have this ironically printed on:

Metro Red Ln (Metro Red Line)

I find it humorous someone from Nebraska talks about Guido. You need someone from New Jersey. We'll bring Guido and Rocko!

    Why's that?
Wait, don't tell me let me guess, I suppose you think we're still fighting the Indians and shooting Buffalos on the prairie?

Can't, not VOCed for stampedin' with or without cement galoshes. Then there's the pre-stampede briefing, safety and emergency assembly points, command structure, social etiquette, logistic support and a myriad of other stuff to learn.....as moose will tell you, stampeding ain't for amateurs….

Besides which, have you ever seen moose, floaties on, doing the 'moose paddle'?

This is what happened to the SPECIAL-RUN market. Overproduction. It used to be SPECIAL-RUN cars meant something. A big event, a Show, a Manufacturer making something NEW. A very limited number of cars were produced and sometimes registered as car XXX out of XXX produced. A car was of a very limited number made. It was a SPECIAL-RUN, that stood for something important. But it got to the situation that if somebody's baby filled a diaper, there would be a SPECIAL-RUN car put out, about it. There would be 500 cars produced and sold for a high [$50 example] price. This destroyed the SPECIAL-RUN market, as Collectors [I was one] got tired of the BS cars and high prices. There was/is a certain organization that was/is heavy into the SP-RN cars. I found that I'm a Model Railroader FIRST and didn't have much use for an organization who just wanted to collect cars.

You want to have some FUN? Take a couple of supposedly HIGH VALUE cars and RUN them on your layout/railroad. Oregon & Nationwide, West India Steamship Lines, etc etc. Watch the Collector's EYES as they spot the cars go by them, on a freight train operating on your Railroad. Listen for comments, "do you still have the jewel case that it came in? Do you want to SELL it?" Yes & NO A GOOD laugh is usually had by the Crew [who know all about it].

    Remember MODEL RAILROADING IS FUN
