Yippee!! My logging locomotive fleet has arrived!!! They actually arrived 3 days after I left for 2 1/2 weeks on site. I finally returned today and got my first look at these beauties.

3 custom built Randgast Class A Climax locomotives. Extraordinary locos, a pair of 18 tonners and a 13 tonner. All fitted with 15:1 gear reduction motors (plus the normal truck reduction gearing) and DCC decoders, DZ126 in each loco! Handrails, tank lettering on the 18 tonners, round tanks and wood frames. There's so many options for these locos.
The grey on the 18tonners is actually accurate, Climax used this as the stock 'default' colour (the Alaskan Class A being restored in Corry has evidence of this) while the tan on the 13 tonner is an undercoat but might be it's base colour yet, weathering and detailing to be finished by me when the parts ordered arrive.
I'm wayyyyy beyond impressed with these -surprisingly heavy- locos, all built on Kato 11-105 chassis
Hats off to Randgast, a master craftsman!!
    Cheers,

Are you going to lease them out till you get a logging operation going???

Nice looking trio you got there. Randy does some very nice work. I have one of his kits that needs built.

I'm thinking of taking them up north with me, I don't want to let them out of my sight lol
I'm impressed that he managed to fit a decoder in each, between the trucks...

Squeezing in under the wire with my other purchases for this month! I bought a few things from Miniprints: 3 different crew figures and the Lionel Strange cancer charity model. All direct from Miniprints. Some Kato small track pieces, end of track bumpers and a wire extension from the local hobby shop. Two packs of various size Micro-brushes (and a non-model railroad model kit) from Toy Train Heaven (online order). An Ikea Ivar modular shelving unit for use as benchwork. Finally, a big bunch of prototype paperwork for what I considered a cheap price (less than $40 including shipping) from E-Bay. Cheers all and stay safe. Maurice
