Default Never seen a train hit an airplane before; heroic police rescue

Came across this today and it's pretty incredible to watch. A small plane crashed on a railroad crossing in southern California, and the police save the pilot with about 3 or 4 seconds to spare before a Metrolink finishes off the small plane. The second angle catches a pretty big chunk of debris narrowly missing the cameraman.

Considering how close this was, the people who risked their lives should be commended. They came very close to getting killed trying to pull the pilot out of the wreckage.

(Note: The pilot has some injuries, and while you don't see anything too terrible, you do see him a bit bloody, so just a warning if you're squeamish. He did survive and is currently in the hospital in stable condition for cuts and bruises.)

    This is insane.

The Dude survives a crash landing - then, almost gets taken out by train - of all things.

Definitely not this Cats time to perish.

...and the camera guy in the second angle. If he'd been standing a few feet further back and to the right, he'd have been killed by that piece of wreckage. That's the kind of stuff that'll make a person go home and rethink their entire existence from a new perspective.

Here's an interesting and informative video that popped up in my YouTube suggestions related to this crash. It's a follow up of the accident by a pilot that flies out of the same airport that includes actual in-flight audio and a visual recreation of the take off that the creator filmed from his own airplane. It adds a whole lot of context as to why that guy's plane ended up on the railroad tracks.

Same warning as before about the video for blood.
