Post Weekend Update (14th Jan 2022)

Please update us on the progress you have made on your MRR projects this week (commencing: 14th Jan 2022).

This weekly thread is to post little snippets about your layout/project progress.
This is not be a substitute for your layout build thread, but just a mini update on what you got done for the week.

You can link from your layout build thread to your posts in this thread as a part of a more extensive post there, or visa-versa (post to your build thread and link to that post when contributing to this thread.

Click on a post's #number (right-hand end of the post header) to get the URL to that particular post in your browsers address bar.
Copy and paste this as needed.

So, fellow nSn'ers, what have you been up to this week?

I was able to get a couple of turnouts installed this week:

A couple of the joints between the two turnouts look a bit iffy, so I redid those after I took the picture.

Those look good, not over done, but not factory new.

Thanks, that's what I was aiming for, though I think the ADM hopper turned out too brownish (the CSX are a more cream-yellowish base color, so it's OK for them) and the pictures say I overdid it on the walkways. Fortunately, they don't look half as rusted in real life

(In fact it's more of a "too little" with my approach: Paint everything solid with slightly thinned oil paint, then dip the paintbrush in thinner and remove 99% of it again)

Well, win some, lose some - I'm very happy with the tank cars, and with ~40 cars and a few locos in the pipeline, I'm not going to be overambitious. After all, N scale is less about modeling single railcars and more about transportation systems
