Default MT&P RR Gets A New Train Inspector Trainee

The MT&P RR has been without a train inspector for a few years now -- ever since Terry the Train Inspector had to take disability retirement.

Mrs Moose -- against the wishes of both Mr Moose and Terry the Retiree -- insisted on a replacement.

She, the replacement, not Mrs Moose, is a cat with no name, no home and no job. However, if she successfully completes the training program, then she will receive a permanent home, the position as MT&P Train Inspector and ... ... ... a name!

Well looking at her colors I would name her New York Central or just NYC pronounce Nick
As long as I can model in N-scale, I know I'm not old

Mr Moose has suggested -- repeated -- "Fluffy" ... ... ... Mrs Moose just laughs, suggests a railroadie name might not be "appropriate" nor a large comedian -- might give the cat a complex, and then gives Moose "the look".

Perhaps she's right, but Moose still likes Fluffy...

I subscribe to the belief that a cat needs multiple names, one for each of the nine lives:

I have one outdoor cat that has the following names:

    1. Leif (leaf) because he was stuck up a tree in the rain for almost 2 days before we coaxed him down
    2. Yoyo because he was always coming into the house and going back outside again.
    3. Elvis ... has left the building
    4. ELY (eli) - (E)lvis, (L)eif, (Y)oyo - Old MacDonald had a cat: E Ly E Ly O

@Moose2013: You're not alone. My wife gives me the same 'look'

    Lost cause, Moose.
However, she (the cat) does indeed have the NYC colors as @Janbouli says, so go ahead and let Mrs. Moose pick a name and then sneakily insist you add the last name Vanderbilt.

Having had a pair of Siamese cats during my first marriage, I suggest either Si or Am after the pair in Lady and the Tramp. As they claimed, "There are no finer cats than I am." Totally destroyed a pair of brand new love seats for this young couple.

I was on holiday from work and enjoyed my grandkids for a short visit today. I also had time to mess around with some resin vehicle kits. I have to tell you, things were easier 30+ years ago in regards to N Scale stuff. Well, I decided to get an airbrush out and paint a couple of cars. I certainly don't know what I'm doing, but managed to get some color on them. I had fun none-the-less. Don't look too hard. I know what to do different next time, but I'm happy for a first attempt at this. Have a wonderful Easter everyone.

Here are more scenery progress shots, showing my weekend progress. I worked on two separate areas. The first is the approach to Specialty Minerals and the second area is Letourneau Gorge. The Gorge is a fictional location and there is nothing like it on the Housatonic RR, but my friend Louis Letourneau (a/k/a "Trainforfun"), encouraged me to put in a trestle scene anyway, since it is supposed to be a fun hobby. I named it after him and added the beaver dam and lodge as a tribute to my Canadian friend. I still need to add some gnawed tree stumps, reeds and cattails, then do a final layer on the spring-fed pond surface. The morning light photo was taken this morning. I had toned down the gray rock formations with some pan pastels after dinner. The full "daylight" shot was taken before the subtle shading and color was added with the pastels.
