Another 100 pre-wired 0402 SMD LEDs (warm white) for ditchlights, number board lights, headlights and other lighting effects:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000150606435.html

They're supposed to arrive by end of the month, so this should be the right thread...

Can't have too many! Can those be used for structure lighting as well?

I think so - I mean, they are tiny (0402 -> 4/100 inch by 2/100 inch, that's 1mm x 0.5mm) but wherever that's what you need. I have used yellow and red 0402s for semi truck lighting before (for the headlights I used bigger ones) and I'll probably use some of these for porch lights etc. when I'll get around to structures.

I've bought from different vendors on that site. Some come with resistors included (usually 1kOhm, so suitable roughly from 5V to 15V depending on the brightness you expect), some come without and it's up to you to add one to match your power supply voltage and brightness expectations. And they also differ in stiffness of wire and how exactly they are soldered, so YMMV slightly.

    Thumbs up

Dropped by Bar Mills Scale Model Works. Highly recommended. Merry Christmas to me! Early. Don't worry, I won't open until Christmas.

    What? That's not Norfolk Southern?

My original plan was to have an around the room layout, with scenes running from the tulip fields of the Netherlands (4 m), up the Rhein valley (5 m), to Switzerland (4 m). I collected NS cars, but no suitable Lok, until now. At this point I don't know why I bought this, except I can resist anything except temptation.

Building Madurodam in N scale would have been so much fun!

Started with some tombstones.........never had plans for a cemetery, but then I bought an assortment of stuff a couple of months back and it included a hearse and a WS funeral set of figures. I had a spot I COULD put a cemetery, so now I'm doing a cemetery. Then I got a pair of Trainworx Milw gondolas.........gondolas are pretty hard to come by in Milw Rd. Then I got an IC TOFC flatcar, and 2 DPM building kits. So much for my monthly splurge.

It's been a long while since I've bought any RR stuff since moving a few years back. (And a long while since posting here.) This month I bought new Peco flex track, switches & Midwest road bed and am poised to start building the new layout. (Muddy Creek 3.0)

I also bought the running gear parts to build a Randgust 18 ton Climax. I have his kit stored away, never built, from years ago and hope I can find it. Otherwise, ordering a new kit is in the cards.

Didn't buy this from a hobby shop per se, but I went to my local Office Depot yesterday and got one of those revolving desk organizers ($14) for my hobby tools. My desk badly needed some tidying up!

For the compartment that stores all my knives and scissors, I lined the bottom with a piece of cork, cut to fit, to protect the bottom of the compartment as well as the blades/sharp edges.

The order that I placed on Monday, with DM Toys, (see post #6, above), arrived today at noon. Five days, from Germany!

There was no charge for postage/shipping for an order this size.

That would be most impressive - if there were photographic proof!

Picked up some intermodal stuff, and some flats (long term plan is to convert them from TOFC to chain tie-down with wood decks...). Also a development board to fiddle around with OpenMRN for future layout control....

Money a bit tight this fall... so with great difficulty, restrained myself for jumping on an Athearn 4-6-6-4 that I've been eyeing for years, when one was offered for sale on the interwebs last week.
I have the opposite of buyer's remorse, wondering how long it'll be until I see one again!

From my LHS sidewalk swap meet this morning, two 10 packs MT roller bearing trucks w/short extension couplers $70 for both.
Life-Like E6 AB set in ACL, are like new with no visible wheel wear and run great $60.
Four box cars, 3 old Atlas (WM is Austria, GN is Yugoslavia and GT is USA has MT’s installed), and 1 MT SAL $5 ea.
Cars are all in great shape all look like new as well, they all look like they spent their entire lives in their boxes.

Saw these vehicles in the dollar store...4 to a pack...thought with some weathering and maybe a wheel swap on a couple, they could be just as good as $10 bachman or Mini Metals. The construction vehicles wheels don't look too bad. 14.jpg

IDK, I think some paint to hide that translucent plastic look would go a long way.
