Today the post girl delivered these two additions to the fleet of rail cars.The box car was courtasy of the 30% off Microtrains was running.The caboose in Southern Pacific was from Spring Creek Trains and is going to be having a repaint into a Union Pacific livery.

Now my railroad is ready for winter snow storms! This plow from Atlas is decorated for the Delaware Lackawanna Railroad (not to be confused with the Delaware Lackawanna and Western). The D-L is a local shortline, a subsidiary of Genesee Valley Transportation. It services the the area around Scranton Pennsylvania and works closely with the Steamtown National Park. It is renowned for it's all Alco roster. I pre-ordered the plow through my local hobby shop. The LHS only ordered a handful but they sold out in a few hours. Glad I reserved one. The prototype for this is not an exact match but close enough. It is on display in Steamtown's yard. The first two pics are on my layout with the matching D-L Locomotive(ALCO C-420) and Caboose. I think they look really sharp together.

Lowell Smith makes some nice n-scale cars. This is his blunt end Southern Pacific car from the city of SF train. I find the Union Pacific yellow colored Southern Pacific cars visually appealing and interesting.

That looks good, @Pencil. I guess you plan to turn some sheets 180°, and perhaps stagger the paper ends so that dark hat shape doesn't repeat. I really like the brick road!

Yes, I'll slice it up and offset the sections a bit to try and break up the tiling. Maybe even rotate a small strip 90 degrees at the corners for crosswalks....

I ordered this a week ago today from Euro Rail Hobbies in British Columbia. I didn't think it would arrive in time for this January thread or for the TECO Train Show next weekend. But it arrived today in time for programming and testing.

An SBB (Swiss) era IV, Re 11131 eLok by Trix. Runs and sounds good!



I'm using it to pull a vintage string of German passenger cars on the middle level of the Alpenbahn.

I picked up the Fox Valley Models "N FVM Line - The Entire Collection" this month.

Really like the locomotives and cars in the set, been eyeing it up for years honestly, but was putting off buying it. Now that they were bought by ScaleTrains though I decided to jump on it before it was too late.

Went to the LHS yesterday to look at Loconet cables. While there,I saw a package of RJ12 plugs. As I already have about 60 feet of 3 pair telephone wire and a crimper that does RJ11, RJ12 and RJ45 plugs. I purchased this instead of precut cables. I'll make my own for the lengths I need.

I also picked up a package of 30g decoder wires. I know I'll need them in the future for my non DCC locomotive conversions. Since I was already there.

A new release from Micro/Trains, purchased at my Local Hobby Shop. The laser cut wooden part is a rack for holding steel plates for shipment. The can also hold sections of panel track, even turnouts. This particular car number is shown twice in the D&H Color Guide from Morning Sun books. The first time is with this paint scheme and the rack is holding steel panels. The second time is in a black and white scheme and holding a turnout panel track. I do notice that the rack is slightly different in each photo, so it probably has been rebuilt. Once I assemble it, I will paint it red like in the first photo. It appears to be a metal rack so i don't know how well the wooden kit will simulate that. From the photo it looks like the interior is painted black, which I will also do. Since the rack remains in the car, I would think the opportunities to ship it back with a load after it has been emptied would be limited. Cheers! Maurice
