Default My new trainsets have just arrived

I finally got the trainsets I ordered, an N-gage Tomix 'Nozomi' Shinkansen train set and a replica (from Kato) of a luxury train, the Shiki-Shima.

I won't be assembling them yet, as I have to tidy up my living room first (and I must get the track set with controller to run the Shiki-Shima), but one I do, I'll be showing people what they are and how they run.

Both trains will run fine on the Tomix Fine Track included in the Shinkensen set.

Most Japanese modelers use Tomix track as it has more kinds of specialized pieces. One of the great things about N scale is that any manufacturer’s train can run on every brand of track.

You can ignore the 100VAC marking on the power-pack. It works fine on NA standard 120VAC. The non polarized plug fits our wall sockets and extension cords. It should take less than five minutes from opening the box to running trains. The Fine Track system is plug-N-play. The track power plug can be inserted into most of the tracks under the rails. The “socket” is between the middle three ties of the track.

Your train set will fit on the kitchen counter.
