Welcome to the forums and to N Scale. Once you get used to the size difference between HO and N, N seems the norm and, lets face it, it IS!

Hello everyone, I am 51, from MD, just starting with model railroading. I am interested in learning and building small 2x4 or 3x5 layout.

Hello all newcomers, veterans of the hobby, and everyone in between!

I just wanted to introduce myself to the community and share my first proper attempts at model railroading.

I'm 32 and within the last few years my interest in the hobby has been rekindled for the first time since childhood.
Besides the Life-Like Little Joe set that I received many years ago as a child, I dabbled mostly in HO.

I live in a small apartment with no dedicated space for any kind of permanent layout so my current focus is
on micro and small modular layouts. I love the compact and highly portable nature of N and the dramatic
improvements in quality and detail that the scale has received in recent decades.

    I currently have two projects: a 16.5" x 11.7" micro layout, and a fold-up 4.4 ft modular switching layout

So far I've only been sharing my experiences on youtube:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKF4Co_gWZE&t=3s
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCA_9FUBptg

    Thank you and Happy Railroading!

Welcome, Dave! When you have a few posts under your belt, photos would be most appreciated. Great group here, with many answers to one's questions Some answers might even be helpful, while others will be amusing. Ignore all others.

I'm not sure I did introduce myself or not. If I did, my apologies. Back into the hobby after a 30+ year hiatus. Protofreelancing the NS D&H South line & NYSW Utica Line. My twin 5 yr old boys are into trains also. Planning a shelf layout, awaiting the physical space to build. Pass the time by using EZ track. I've received great help from the forum. Welcome to all new members.
Do I know what I'm doing? Maybe...maybe not...but I'm gonna try to have fun

    Hello Everyone,

Thanks for letting me join this virtual N Scale layout.

I started with model railroading as a kid, but left it in about 1991. I am just getting back into it now, but unfortunately I do not have the space for a permanent layout. I am currently building a T-Trak module to get back into everything and learning how to model.

Here is the current design I am working on.

Thanks and I look forward to all the learning.
