Welcome to all the new members, atlas refugees, or just stumbled onto us by luck.

It's nice to be here, amoung great modelers and inspirations. It's also nice to be accepted here and NOT hasseled by administration! The admin here is great...and it's nice to be a part of that team (note: to those who havn't noticed...i'm a moderator)

It's also great to see so many names that i've seen before; Thirdrail, YHR, VARR, and many others.

Enjoy it guys, it's a great place!

I am 59 years old and building my 2nd N Scale layout. I relocated from MN to south FL a few years ago and had to dismantle the first one. Not enough room in the new home.

I like what I have seen so far here.

    Howdy Y'all

I'm another refugee from the Atlas forum looking to find another Nscale fix. So many other sites like MR have too many HOscalers worried about Athearn or MDC & their Blue Box kits.

I'm a transplanted Cubs fan now living in Music City USA, Nashville, TN,
home of the Grand Ole Opry & WSM radio. Anytime you want some good country music, point your browser to WSMonline.com & listen in. Country fans around the world get to hear true legends along with newbies.

We have become le largest metro area in the US without a mass transit rail system. That may change in the next few years if the Music City Star gets funding for construction for the first leg of 5 planned. This line would run on the Nashville & Eastern to Lebanon, TN.

I started in Nscale in the 70's when woolworth's sold a Postage Stamp Trix Train set at Christmas. How times have changed for Nscale!

    Hello, Everyone!

My name is John and I live on Long Island, in NY.

I am retired, have just switched to NScale after 49 years in HO. The retirement home has limited space, so the HO is history. I operate a small L-shaped (6' x 12') branchline. One daily mixed freight, one daily coal drag.

I joined this forum because I am discovering that this scale is not quite an operational or maintenance duplicate of HO, and I'm in need of some guidance, which, when appropriate, I will put into play in the requisite topic headings.

The screen name is Anskar, and the Avatar is the Jersey Central logo.

    Good to be aboard.

    Peace,
    John

Greetings all. I am still somewhat new to forums but as I am starting a layout and love trains in general (N scale and 1:1) I thought this would be an interesting spot to visit.

Welcome to all the new members. Both those that reply to this thread and those who just join and show up down in the "new members" list section down in the lower right corner.

Not to belittle anyone else or to single anyone out but It is really cool to have JoeShaw on the nscale.net forum. Most of us know him from www.krunk.org - a very awesome site dedicated to what I would call "New River Valley Railroading". Anyone who has been there knows what I mean. Mother natures work at it's finest. NW, NS, VGN ...

    Hello!
Name is Dennis Skea, in Poughkeepsie, New York (On the Hudson, between NYC and Albany)
Into MMR and N scale for about 2 years(after 30 years of "thinking about it&quot. Have a 4x8 unscenicked layout using Bachmann E-Z track, but mostly I build switching layouts. I have several 1x4 baseboards with 1" foam board on them, and I'm forever rebuilding layouts. on them.
My wife says I can have the basement IF I clean it up. Working on that!!!
I belong to most of the MMR yahoo sites, subscribe to most of the magazines, and have an extensive library of MMR books. I'm the type that reads EVERYTHING about a subject I'm interested in.
So much for now. I'll probably lurk until I have something to add.

    Greetings!

I have been an N-scaler for 6 years. My efforts thus far have been in the N-Trak arena. When I recently moved down here to Georgia, I sold my modules to my former club in Virginia because I had half of the group's corners, so I am starting again basicly from scratch. Any of you that were at the June, 2003 show in Richmond VA saw my Aluminium Bridge module in action.
I have chosen Santa Fe as my main line, and 1950-1960 as an era, because I love steam and like some of the deisels as well.
My fleet consists of a variety of cars, but I have learned the wisdom of going with Microtrains as my car of choice as I have grown weary of doing coupler exchanges. I prefer Kato locomotives for my main motive power, but again I have many from other manufacturers.
I have just begun to agressively dabble in DCC, but have had my empire Builder form Digitrax for a long time. I want to learn more about it before I begin constructing my new home layout.
By trade I am a Programmer for Manufacturing systems, with an electrical engineering background.

    Be well all!

    Glenn
